Where to swim in Luzern: Strandbad Tribschen

Whether it is by the lake, in the rivers, or visiting a local pool – The Swiss love to cool down at the Badi in the summer. If you want to hang out with the locals this summer, the Badi is where you’ll find them.  I hope you are all enjoying the Summer Badi series here at Swiss Family Travel.

Today, Connie a mum of 3 shares her favourite Badi, Strandbad Tribschen. Connie is originally from Argentina and has been living in Basel for the past 6 years. She is a journalist by profession and loves nature and exploring new cultures.

Where is your favourite Badi?

Tribschen Badi

Opening hours and entry price?

The Badi is opening from 9am to 8pm

Entry into the Badi is 5chf for Adults and 3chf for children aged 6-16.

Best way to get there?

The parking is quite convenient right next to the Badi’s entrance but it is always better to go early in the morning in order to get a good spot. Or take the bus number 6/7 or 8 to bus stop Wartegg from the Luzern train station.  The Badi is around a 3 minute walk from the bus stop.

What sets your Badi apart from the rest?

It has a nice sandy beach lined with trees, a protected area in the lake to swim for young kids with a lifeguard and a platform where one can swim to, relax and dive. There is also a small pool with sprinklers for toddlers.  It has a big lawn so even if it is crowded there is a lot of space on which to lay a towel or sun chair.

Anything yummy that we must try on the menu?

We usually take a picnic basket.

Whats one thing you never go to the Badi without?

Sun chairs, sun protection lotion and towels.
