Why This Map

On a mission to avoid wasting money and calories on a bad meal, I started not just saving the restaurants I wanted to try, but the ones I’d go back to on a map. Somewhere to check when I was in planning mode and overwhelmed by choice, but also to refer to when I was asked a recommendation.

This is that map.

But I can’t eat everywhere. So over the years I’ve collected recommendations from locals who know the places I don’t get to. Their picks are on the map too, and every pin is marked either z’Nüni Tested or Local Recommendation, so you always know which is which

Why You Can Trust It

No one can buy their way onto this map. On the rare occasion I've had a free meal somewhere, it only makes the list if I went back and paid for it myself, and loved it a second time. Every single place here is somewhere I'd send you without a second thought.

How to Use the Map

The map opens straight in Google Maps on your phone. Save it once and it’s there whenever you need it — planning at home or standing on a street corner deciding where to eat.

It also comes with a PDF: my top personal picks with what to order, simple instructions for saving and using the map, and the full list organised by region so you can see everything at a glance.

Who Made This Map

Me! Kristin Reinhard, owner of z’Nüni, and some would call me a little food-obsessed.

I love eating everything, from the best schnitzel or burger to multi-course, multi-hour creative cuisine. It just has to taste good.

I don’t judge a place by its cover, but by the food, the people, and if there’s a good view all the better.

Where to Eat in Switzerland — Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Switzerland restaurant map?

It’s a curated map of where to eat across Switzerland: restaurants, bakeries, markets and dairies chosen by someone who’s lived here for 25 years. Every place is either somewhere I’ve eaten or a trusted local recommendation. Never a paid listing.

You will receive the link to download the map via email directly after purchase. To view it, make sure you have google maps downloaded on your phone.  Then when you are planing your trip, or in a city looking for a recommendation, the map is right there ready to use.

No, that’s the entire point. The map deliberately skips the overpriced tourist traps and points you to where Swiss locals actually eat, across every price range.

The map launches with 219 pins across the country with most in the following locations:

    • Lucerne & Central Switzerland Zug — 76 pins
    • Zürich & North-East Switzerland — 47 pins
    • St. Moritz & South-East Switzerland— 38 pins
    • Lugano & Ticino — 21 pins
    • Bern and Bernese Oberland — 13 pins
    • Basel & North West Switzerland — 9 pins
    • Western Switzerland — 12 pins
    • Zermatt & Valais — 2 pins

Because it’s a digital product you get instant access to, sales are final. But if something’s genuinely wrong (a broken link), email me and I’ll fix it. And remember, these are just helpful suggestions, always check the menu to see if the place suits your taste and budget.
