If my tips on what to do in summer and winter in Brunni have you wanting to pack your bags and turn your day trip to Engelberg into something a little longer. Then you’ve come to the right place.
With a wide variety of hotels and holiday apartments, you are spoiled for accommodation choices in Engelberg. So to help with your decision, I’ve collated below some personal recommendations. We have Engelberg accommodation suggestions for the self-caterers, great hotels to fit a variety of budgets, as well as a family-focused campground.
Berglodge Ristis

Why not make the most of your stay and spend it on the mountain itself. Once all the day-trippers leave for the day, you have the beautiful views of the Titlis, Spannorten and Hahnen peaks all to yourself. Well, at least you and your fellow lodge guests!
Berglodge Ristis offers a variety of room options, including family rooms or shared bunk rooms. All your needs are tended to, linen, towels and shampoo included in the cost.
In winter, your stay includes: breakfast, 3-course dinner in the restaurant, and ski passes for the Brunni ski lifts for the days booked to stay (includes arrival and departure days). In summer, your stay includes: breakfast, 3-course dinner, and unlimited rides on the cable car between Engelberg – Ristis, meaning you can go down and visit town easily enough.
You will need to park your car in the parking lot by the Brunni Cable Car – which is 5chf per day.
Titlis Resort
The Titlis Resort is a great option for those who prefer to cook their own meals and require a bit more space. It is perfect for families, couples, and group trips, like for our recent z’Nüni Team winter trip, alike. These self-serviced apartments (available in various configurations) are located conveniently close to the Titlis cable car and about a 15-minute walk to the Brunni cable car.
As in other hotels in Engelberg, upon arrival, you will receive an Engelberg guest card, which entitles you to some discounts whilst staying in the area. Parking is available at the resort but comes at an additional charge per day.
The resort boasts a small spa area, daily bread delivery right to your front door, and friendly staff ready to help you explore the valley.
Hotel Bellevue- Terminus
Hotel Bellevue is located right in the heart of Engelberg, a mere stumbling distance from the train station. This hotel offers modern hotel rooms, a welcome drink upon arrival, an extensive breakfast in the mornings, guest cards for the region, and free (outdoor) parking.
Throughout the year, they put together special packages for couples, girl’s weekends away, or events that reflect the seasons and what is happening in Engelberg. I recommend keeping an eye out for a great deal here!
Kempinski Engelberg

Georgette aka @girlinzug, also recently spent some time in Engelberg with her family and recommends Kempinski Engelberg as a luxury option that wows on service. The venerable “new kid on the block”, having opened in summer 2021, this historic Grand Hotel from 1904 combines the charm of the Belle Époque era with a modern contemporary flair.
“They offer guests a range of excellent services: think a free shuttle service, exquisite buffet breakfast (including cheese from the local monastery), onsite restaurant options (don’t miss the fondue popup, if you are there in the winter season), a rooftop spa with panoramic views, and a kid’s club that is so cosy and colourful you might be tempted to hang out there yourself.”
She was particularly impressed with the baby-friendly additions that made it easier to not pack the house, like an in-room cot, baby changing table, bath, baby towel, and kid-friendly toiletries.
Eienwäldli Campground

For those looking to get closer to nature and own camping equipment, z’Nüni editor Kristin suggests checking out the Eienwäldli campground.
Located a short walk away from the Brunni cable car, the small campground has excellent amenities, like a mini supermarket and well-maintained bathrooms, perfect for hosting your VW van, caravan, motorhome or tent.
The kids will love the rafts on the small lake, trampoline and indoor pool, while the parents can sneak off for a relaxing massage (yup, a massage at a campground!) or enjoy the delicious restaurant across the road. Eienwäldli also has hotel rooms for those who prefer to sleep in a “real” bed.
Now, this only touches the surface of accommodation options in Engelberg! So if you have some great recommendations, please let us know so we can add them to the list!
